Nd:YAG 1064 nm works deeper and is especially relevant for darker or tanned skin types. It expands planning when Alexandrite or diode alone would not be the best choice.
Safety & comfort
Skin check, cooling, suitable parameters
Before every treatment we check skin type, tan, hair color and zone. Parameters are adjusted, the skin is cooled and you receive clear UV guidance for the time before and after your appointment.
We do not decide this as a blanket rule. In the consultation we assess whether Alexandrite 755 nm, diode 810 nm, Nd:YAG 1064 nm or an adjusted plan makes sense.
Light to medium skin
Dark hair: often Alexandrite
If the skin is not tanned and the hair is dark and coarse, Alexandrite 755 nm is often the suitable choice.
Medium skin types
Often sensible with diode
Diode 810 nm can be useful for medium skin types, coarse hair and larger zones. With tanning, we check especially carefully and do not treat by default.
Darker or tanned skin
Often better with Nd:YAG
Nd:YAG 1064 nm is often easier to plan when the skin is darker or lightly tanned. Consistent UV management remains important.
Blonde, red, grey hair
Honest suitability check
Very light, red, grey or white hair often contains too little target pigment. We say this clearly before you book sessions.

How does laser hair removal work?
Alexandrite 755 nm, diode 810 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm deliver light energy at defined wavelengths. The energy is mainly absorbed by dark hair and can affect the hair root so that growth is reduced long term.
How many sessions do I need?
Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are typical; about 6–12 appointments are often recommended depending on zone.
How far apart are sessions?
Often several weeks apart (e.g., around 6 weeks), depending on zone and growth.
Do I need to shave beforehand?
Usually yes — avoid waxing/epilating beforehand because the hair root is needed as a target.
Does it hurt?
Sensation is individual; many describe a brief sting or warmth.
Can all skin types be treated?
Many skin types can be treated, but not every hair is equally suitable. Alexandrite 755 nm is strong for lighter skin and dark hair; diode 810 nm complements planning especially for larger zones and denser hair; Nd:YAG 1064 nm is an important option for darker or tanned skin. Very light, red, grey or white hair often responds less well.
Is summer a problem?
Fresh UV exposure must be taken seriously. With diode 810 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm, certain starting points can be planned in a more differentiated way than with Alexandrite alone; still, we check the skin before every appointment and give clear UV rules.
How much does it cost?
Single zones start from €35 and packages from €89 per session. You receive the exact price for your zones transparently in the free initial consultation.
When should I not be treated?
We generally do not treat during pregnancy, breastfeeding or acute infections.
Does it also work for darker or tanned skin?
Yes, if skin condition and hair color are suitable. For darker or tanned skin, Nd:YAG 1064 nm is especially relevant because the wavelength works deeper and is gentler on the epidermis than Alexandrite. UV management remains essential.
Is laser hair removal suitable for men?
Yes. Back, shoulders, chest and neck are especially common requests. The process is the same — we choose the wavelength according to skin and hair type.
